Community relations

King Sturge is committed to strengthening ties with local communities to create better local environments. All partners in charge are responsible for maintaining good relationships and ensuring business is conducted in a socially responsible manner. King Sturge colleagues are encouraged and supported in their community work and their contributions are recognised.

King Sturge shows its commitment to the community in various ways. We believe our employees have a lot to offer their local communities, with their vision and drive towards creating a better local environment.

King Sturge was a founding member of the ProHelp programme of Business in the Community, a national network of professional firms who offer their time and professional advice for free to community groups and voluntary organisations. We encourage individuals to take an interest in community projects, feedback from which is always extremely positive. The response from our employees is also enthusiastic. It makes a welcome change from the commercial work with which we are engaged for the majority of our time and enables us to develop skills and relationships that we would not otherwise have an opportunity to do.

Recent ProHelp projects King Sturge has been involved with include; The MIDI Music Company, Deptford; Age Concern, Greenwich; and the Culpeper Community Garden, Islington. These projects have involved individuals from our Project Management, Building Surveying, Architectural, Valuation and Town Planning Teams.

King Sturge is a member of Business in the Community.

We are developing our involvement in areas across the UK and Europe for example with mentoring, work placement, pro bono and fund raising for Centrepoint Charity in the UK and Club Deportivo in Madrid, Spain which helps disenfranchised, disabled and young adults to take part in sport and other activities.
